Upriver Wool Co. is located in the Upper McKenzie Valley of western Oregon, about 50 miles east of Eugene. We have specialized in Lincoln-based percentage Wensleydales since 2003. We utilitize artificial insemination to expand our bloodlines, and improve our breeding stock. Because of this most of our sheep can only be sold to flocks who are enrolled in the Federal (Mandatory) Scrapie Program.

We usually have breeding stock available, as well as white and colored fleeces.

In 2004 we bred to two UK Wensleydale rams - Albourne Silver Moon (silver) and Oakhill Merle (white). Both ewes twinned.

In 2005 we A.I.ed two of our ewes to West End Cole, a black UK ram, and both had triplets. One of the Cole daughters was Reserve Champion Black Wensleydale Yearling ewe and Champion Colored Wensleydale, Fleece at the 2007 Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival.

In 2006 we A.I.ed four ewes - two to Oakhill Merle and two to West End Ambassador, both white rams. Two of the ewes lambed, both with single ewe lambs - one sired by Merle, the other by Ambassador. The Merle daughter was Reserve Champion White Wensleydale Ewe at the 2007 Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival.

In 2007 we A.I.ed three ewes - two to Oakhill Merle and one to Albourne Silver Moon. Two ewes lambed, with a total of three ram lambs.

In 2008 we A.I.ed 5 ewes - two to Oakhill Merle and three to West End Ambassador. All the ewes lambed with one set of triplets and four sets of twins.
